🐾 Trail – Art trail through Kendal town centre, drop by the museum for a trail sheet. 🥂 Exhibition preview – Open preview evening 6-8pm on Friday 10th May at Kendal Museum’s People’s Gallery. All are welcome. 🎙 Talk – Atomic Wastes Under Cumbria?” with Dr Ian Fairlie, an expert on radiation in the environment and Richard Outram of Nuclear Free Local Authorities 7-9pm on Saturday 11th May at The Venue via Kendal Museum. Entry is free but please RSVP to info@kendalmuseum.org.uk. 🥾 Walk – a geology, wildlife and literature walk along the Cumbrian coastline from St Bees to Jonathon Swift’s House at Whitehaven (date tbc).. Entry to the People’s Gallery at Kendal Museum on Station Road is free and open to public Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:30-16:30. Please note that the gallery is down a flight of stairs. Excitement growing for RockSolid?2 with images being sent in of some wonderful artworks exploring the unique landscape, geology and flora and fauna of the Lake District. Here is a sneak peek of one just arrived from Lake Artist Society Award Winner, Andrea Pentecost. This charcoal drawing is called "Fell Runners".

Afternoon of Creative Responses to Cumbrian Geology

 Last week Rock Solid? artists and visitors to Kendal Museum had a wonderfully creative time sketching from the amazing Cumbrian geology collections.  The sketches will inform artworks to be created for 'Rock Solid? 2'.  More events coming up - keep your eyes peeled!   Here are a selection of sketches....
